MatchesCameron Green, a towering Australian all-rounder standing close to two metres tall, has long been earmarked for big things. Signed by Western Australia as a teenager, he made an immediate impact in first-class cricket, claiming 5 for 24 on debut in 2017. Initially seen as a bowling all-rounder, a series of injuries led to a shift in focus, with Green evolving into a batting all-rounder who can still contribute with the ball. His rapid rise saw him make both his Test and ODI debuts against India in 2020, just months after turning 21. Since then, he has reinforced his credentials with three international centuries and two five-wicket hauls. Mumbai Indians onboarded him in TATA IPL in 2023 as a replacement for Hardik Pandya, and Green delivered with an unbeaten 100 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, as he finished the season with an average of 50.22 and a strike rate of 160.28. He moved to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2024, contributing more prominently with the ball on tougher batting surfaces, before missing the 2025 season due to a lower-back stress fracture. Now fit again, Green returns as one of the most sought-after all-rounders, with Kolkata Knight Riders securing him for INR 25.20 Crore — the highest bid for an overseas player in IPL history.
